| AntAWS - 3 Houarly
| A meteorological dataset derived from Antarctic automatic weather station records at 3-h resolution, daily and monthly, including quality control information. This dataset integrates measurements of air temperature, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction from 267 Antarctic AWSs obtained from 1980 to 2021. | CMEMS - CORA: Coriolis Ocean database for ReAnalysis
| \"The COriolis Ocean Dataset for Reanalysis (hereafter \"\"CORA\"\") product is a global dataset of in situ temperature and salinity measurements. The CORA observations comes from many different sources collected by Coriolis data centre in collaboration with the In Situ Thematic Centre of the Copernicus Marine Service (CMEMS INSTAC). The observation integrated in the CORA product have been acquired both by autonomous platforms (Argo profilers, fixed moorings , gliders , drifters, sea mammals) , research or opportunity vessels (CTDs, XBTs, ferrybox).\nFrom the near real time CMEMS In Situ Thematic Centre product validated on a daily and weekly basis for forecasting purposes, a scientifically validated product is created. It s a \"\"reference product\"\" updated on a yearly basis since 2007. This product has been controlled using an objective analysis (statistical tests) method and a visual quality control (QC). This QC procedure has been developed with the main objective to improve the quality of the dataset to the level required by the climate application and the physical ocean re-analysis activities. It provides T and S weekly gridded fields and individual profiles both on their original level with QC flags and interpolated level. The measured parameters, depending on the data source, are : temperature, salinity. | NOAA - Optimum Interpolation (OI) Sea Surface Temperature (SST) V2 High Resolution Dataset
| The NOAA 1/4° Daily Optimum Interpolation Sea Surface Temperature (OISST) is a long term Climate Data Record that incorporates observations from different platforms (satellites, ships, buoys and Argo floats) into a regular global grid. The dataset is interpolated to fill gaps on the grid and create a spatially complete map of sea surface temperature. Satellite and ship observations are referenced to buoys to compensate for platform differences and sensor biases. OISST belongs to a family of products that are sometimes referred to as \"Reynolds SST\" for Richard W. Reynolds, a NOAA scientist who worked to improve the accuracy of the SST analyses by optimizing the advantages of in situ (ship and buoy) and satellite data. Older Reynolds SST products have been retired, except for the 1° weekly OISST. The dataset was developed using a methodology that includes bias adjustment of satellite and ship observations (referenced to buoys) to compensate for platform differences and sensor biases. This proved critical during the Mt. To contribute to reducing uncertainties in climate change predictions, the overall objective of the SO-CHIC project is to understand and quantify variability of heat and carbon budgets in the Southern Ocean through an investigation of the key processes controlling exchanges between the atmosphere, ocean and sea ice using a combination of observational and modelling approaches. The Southern Ocean regulates the global climate by controlling heat and carbon exchanges between the atmosphere and the ocean. Rates of climate change on decadal time scales ultimately depend on oceanic processes taking place in the Southern Ocean, yet too little is known about the underlying processes. | SOOS - ICE-LAPSE: Analysis of Antarctic benthos
| Long-term dataset consisting of 755 images, with fixed field of view, of Antarctic coastal benthic fauna acquired by using a non-invasive, autonomous imaging device. Antarctica is a remote place, the continent is covered by ice and its surrounding coastal areas are frozen for the majority of the year. Due to its peculiarity the observation of the underwater organisms is particularly difficult, complicated by logistic factors. We present a long-term dataset consisting of 755 images acquired by using a non-invasive, autonomous imaging device and encompassing both the Antarctic daylight and dark periods, including the corresponding transition phases. All images have the same field of view showing the benthic fauna and part of the water column above, including fishes present in the monitored period. All the images are manually annotated after a visual inspection performed by expert biologists. | Subset of Antarctic Global Historical Climatology Network - Daily (GHCN-Daily) - Temperature and Precipitation
| The Global Historical Climatology Network - Daily (GHCN-Daily) dataset integrates daily climate observations from approximately 30 different data sources. Version 3 was released in September 2012 with the addition of data from two additional station networks. Changes to the processing system associated with the version 3 release also allowed for updates to occur 7 days a week rather than only on most weekdays. Version 3 contains station-based measurements from well over 90,000 land-based stations worldwide, about two thirds of which are for precipitation measurement only. Other meteorological elements include, but are not limited to, daily maximum and minimum temperature, temperature at the time of observation, snowfall and snow depth. Over 25,000 stations are regularly updated with observations from within roughly the last month. The dataset is also routinely reconstructed (usually every week) from its roughly 30 data sources to ensure that GHCN-Daily is generally in sync with its growing list of constituent sources. During this process, quality assurance checks are applied to the full dataset. Where possible, GHCN-Daily station data are also updated daily from a variety of data streams. | Upper Ocean Thermal Data collected on the high density line IX28 (Dumont d Urville-Hobart) using XBT (expendable bathythermographs)
| DEPTH_CH14 and TEMP_CH14 contain depth and temperature corrected values following Cheng et al, 2014 corrections, using tables updated on June 28, 2017. Temperature data from the Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere (TOGA)/World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) transect IX28 across the SOuthern Ocean has been collected since 1992 and are ongoing. The transect is repeated approximately 6 times a year, with profiles obtained approximately every 10-50 Km.
